KOTOKO DECISION TO PLAY IN AFRICA IS A TRAP FOR NEW MANAGEME …
Former Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe has disclosed that the Board of Directors decision to allow Asante Kotoko to participate in the 2020/2021 CAF Champions league season is a trap for the new management to fail.
“I don’t support the decision by Kotoko Board to allow the team to play in Africa because they have sold all their key players which is Songne Yacouba,Abudul Fataw Safiu and Kwame Bonsu conte so I believe the decision by the board is a trap for the new management of the club to fail,”Eric Bekoe told Kwame Fosu Gyeabour(Jay Jay) on All Sports on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
“For a team to perform majestically in Africa, it comes with a quality crop of players. This Kotoko team is low quality.”
The Kumasi based club is set to represent Ghana at the CAF Champions league for the second time after doing so last year.
Kotoko last season suffered a double dose of elimination from the CAF inter club competitions starting with an elimination at knock out stage of the CAF Champions League at the hands of Etoile Du Sahel and another elimination in the CAF Confederations Cup at the hands of little known Ivorian side San Pedro.
