The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North and Chairman of the Government Assurances Committee in Parliament, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah has reiterated his desire to make the constituency he leads a prosperous one.
Speaking at the 6th edition of the MP’s gala tournament at Krofrom Division park, the youthful legislator said that he was committed to harnessing both natural and human resource potentials in the constituency for development.
He noted that the game of football provides an avenue for raw talents to be harnessed for effective development.
The MP, therefore, challenged football scouts and coaches in the country to take advantage of the gala he organizes in the constituency to look out for talents which they could develop and polish for effective use in future.
”My aim as a legislator in this constituency is to ensure that I harness raw talents and develop them to become useful human beings for this community, their families and the country as a whole”, Hon Amankwah stressed.
On the gala competition which was eventually won by the team from Dote-Quarry, Hon Amankwah praised all the participating teams for their effort.
He noted that the eight teams which included Buokrom East and West, Yennyawoso, Duase, Dote-Quarry, Krofrom, Moshie Zongo and others had proven to possess good football talents that could be harnessed for proper development.
Hon Amankwah also thanked the various assembly members for their commitment to ensuring the games came off smoothly.
He promised to organise a similar gala competition on December 24 to give persons who have skill in football the opportunity to showcase their talent to the world.

”Watching the games as I sat down I am hopeful of the future of these players and I am committed to helping the best five talents chosen by the Technical committee to develop their talents as I plan to take all of them to world events in 2022 as well as the upcoming under 23 tournament ”, Hon Amankwah noted to rapturous applause.
Taking home a participation fee of GhC 400.00 each, the fourth-placed team, Duase got 200gh in addition as well as a football.
The third-placed team, Buokrom Estate got GHC 300.00, a football and a set of football jerseys as their prize.
For placing second, the MP’s team from Yennyawoso got a cash prize of GHC 500.00, a set of jerseys, football and some sets of streetlights.
Taking the bragging rights as winners of the 6th edition of the gala, the Dote-Quarry team took home a fabulous trophy, cash of GHC 1000.00, set of jerseys, football, and sets of fluorescent tubes and streetlights.
Meanwhile, a young and vibrant talent with nickname Dyballa, a player from Yennyawoso team won the accolade as best player as well as goal king and would have the chance to watch the 2020 world cup in Qatar with full sponsorship from the Manhyia North MP.
