Zanetor Lied;Food Are Not Shared On Partisan Lines – NADMO …
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has quashed reports by Member of Parliament for Klottey Korley,Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings for saying NADMO is distributing food to party faithful instead of vulnerable in the communities in the midst of partial lockdown to control the spread of COVID-19 .
According to NADMO, the allegations by the Member of Parliament is false, baseless and lacks accurate facts.
The Communications Director of NADMO, George Ayisi quashed reports claiming when food is given out, it is only done after inspecting pro-government political party identification cards.
“It is absolutely a blatant lie [that we are being partisan with the distribution]. We get to some places and even when you want to give them the food, some are hesitant because they say it is the party that is bringing the food, but we tell them no, it is from NADMO…” George Ayisi told Citi News
“We are sometimes in a hurry because we don’t want a violation of the social distancing rule so what time will we have to check party cards?… A lot of the people that come for the food are below 18 years, they are kids, so which party card are they going to show?” he quizzed.
“When it comes to the national one [distribution], NADMO, there is no partisan consideration,” he added.
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings accused government of being biased in the distribution of relief items to the target audience.
“People are using partisanship to distribute food. This is unacceptable. This is very sad. The lockdown is for the whole place and not just a few people. What is going on is wrong. We need greater accountability and transparency in the distribution of food,” Dr. Zanetor said when she distributed food to some Kayayei recently.
