The Managing Director of the State Housing Company Limited (SHC), Kwabena Ampofo Appiah has urged all Ghanaians to take part in the upcoming voter’s registration exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to him, is very important for all Ghanaians to take part in the Electoral exercise to enhance democracy and citizenry as a Ghanaian.
Kwabena Appiah said it is important for Ghanaians to have a say in the development of their communities and, therefore, appealed to opinion leaders, chiefs and the clergy to join hands in efforts to sensitize Ghanaians to take part in the voter’s registration exercise, since voting is a civic responsibility.
“We need to sustain our public engagement to whip up interest and mobilise the citizenry towards attaining a higher voter turnout in the upcoming voter’s registration exercise to make sure we elect a good leader for the country which President Akufo-Addo,’’ Kwabena Ampofo Appiah told Reynold Agyemang on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
“I pleading with Ghanaians not to allow any politician to deceive them from taking part in the voter’s registration exercise because those people will go ahead and write their names and tell you not to write your name,’’he added
‘’I’m telling you that most of the NDC members are planning to take part in the voter’s registration exercise.’’
The EC is expected to begin the compilation of the new register from late June 2020. The process will be done within 40 days.
