Director of Research at Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Agya Yaw Nsiah, has indicated that allegations by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) accusing the Electoral Commission (EC) of planning to rig elections with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is baseless and frivolous.

Director of Research at Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Agya Yaw Nsiah.

He described the actions and complains by the NDC as baseless and a way to distract the EC’s attention ahead of the 2020 election.

The opposition party accused the EC of not providing them with a credible register for the by-election.

The NDC further criticized the leadership of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, saying she may jeopardize the credibility of the election.

Agya Nsiah said the NPP will win the December polls despite the numerous fabrications by the NDC to create chaos, disunity, and fear.

“They are doing this because they do not have a good candidate and a good story to tell the voters in December,’’ Agya Yaw Nsiah  told Okatakyire Obeng Mensah on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7

“It is not the fault of any Ghanaian that the NDC chose to bring back as their presidential candidate for 2020 the very one in whose hands the NDC suffered their biggest defeat in history,”

“What the ballot should do is to present an unvarnished verdict of the will of the Ghanaian people. That is what should take place of any well-functioning democracy; that the ballot represents a fair, clear statement of what wishes of our people are.”

According to Agya Yaw Nsiah, there NPP is no position to conspire with the electoral body as being speculated by the NDC to rig elections, as the electoral processes will remain transparent at all levels.
