Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has described the Agyapa Royalties Transaction deal as the biggest corrupt deal in Ghana since the country’s independence in 1957.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has failed to the brim after he pledged to fight corruption during his swearing-in as the first gentleman of the land.

The comments of the past immediate Special Prosecutor follows  response by the President to his response office over his recent resignation.

Mr. Amidu in a 27-page document said he was utterly shocked by the letter from the Presidency.

He insisted that the content of the letter was “intended by the President to assassinate my character for simply exposing the true nature of the off-shore Jersey incorporated Agyapa Royalties Limited Transactions in my professional anti-corruption assessment report”.

Describing President Akufo-Addo as ‘mother of all corruption’ since Ghana gained independence in 1957, the anti-corruption campaigner in his lengthy response fumed that, Akufo -Addo took the Presidential “oath while looking like the innocent flower of anti-corruption but being the mother serpent of corruption under it.”

Mr Amidu in his response also states that the letter from the presidency accepting his resignation and written the President’s Secretary, revealed that neither the President not his secretary had read the full 64-page report on the Agyapa deal to know that it contained very serious corruption and corruption related offences.
