Bawumia Has Made The Economy Useless – Peter Mensah

Member of the NDC Communication Team, Peter Akwasi Mensah has criticized the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the poor management of the economy after the erstwhile Mahama administration laid a strong foundation.

‘’Dr Bawumia promised to rescue the cedi and stabilize it for economic growth, look at the cedi now, how did he (Bawumia) rescue it, Bawumia rather came and destroyed the economy making it useless’’ he said.

Peter Mensah speaking on Pan Africa TV and monitored by kingdomfmonline, stated that the governing party’s claims that a Vice Presidential Candidate should have economic background because he/she will head the Economic Management Team (EMT) is baseless. He said it does require someone to have economic background to be a running mate or VEEP.

‘’ Dr Bawumia as an Economist hasn’t changed anything but rather has cedi keeps depreciating and frequent borrowing has been his achievement so far as head of the Economic Management Team (EMT)”.

He explains that the appointment of Prof Jane Opoku Agyeman is a good decision the flag bearer took and has met the expectations of many Ghanaian women.

” The English Professor to partner former President John Dramani Mahama for the 2020 general elections will bring dignity, freshness and hope for women as the NDC believes in inclusive and sustainable development.

‘’When we talk about Ghana being a beacon of democracy in Africa or West Africa some of these decisions deepened our democratic credential’’ he noted.

Meanwhile the General Secretary of the NPP John Boadu, in an interview said it’s only Kayayes who will wave prof Naana Jane when she goes on a campaign tour, a statement that has been condemned by some Ghanaians describing it as unfortunate coming from the NPP top scribe.
