The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said.
President Akufo-Addo should arrest and also sack the Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority(NIA) for flouting his directive to stop all public gathering amid the coronavirus.
According to Asiedu Nketia , the decision to proceed with the mass registration exercise defeats the spirit and letter of the directives issued by the President as part of measures to combat the COVID-19 spread in the country.
“Ken Attafuah was aware of the president’s directive placing an injunction on all social gathering but he intentionally ignores the president’s order and he must be arrested”, he said.
When the host Citizen Kofi Owusu said Ken Attafuah earlier made it clear that he has put in place safety precautions, Asiedu Nketia replied:
“Did the president say we should put safety precautions in place or we should stop social gathering…Why was Ghana medical association going against his actions, it means he is wrong”. He quizzed
“What at all does the NIA boss want, whose interest is he serving with the continuation of the registration exercise?” he rhetorically asked.
