A communicator of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Kwame Asafo –Adjei, has called on Ghanaians to adhere strictly to protocols announced by the government to combat the spread of the coronavirus disease.
He added that Ghanaians have to be well and physically fit to be able to fight this epidemic so it is important for all to adhere to the protocols to promote good health and ensure the safety of all.
Nana Kwame Asafo –Adjei urged Ghanaians to practice social distancing, washing hands regularly with soap under running water, use of hand sanitizers, and avoid handshakes and reporting of suspected cases to negate the potential of community spread.
“I’m urging and pleading with Ghanaians to adhere to the protocols by the government and the World Health Organization to control the widespread of the coronavirus epidemic,’’ Nana Kwame Asafo –Adjei told Kwame Tutu on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
‘’ I have trust and believe in President Akufo-Addo that in President Akufo-Addo that he is going to protect lives of Ghanaians that is why am pleading with the whole nations to adhere to the precautionary protocols, ‘’he added.
He said the virus could easily spread into other communities if the rule of social distancing is ignored.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended the closure of the country’s borders by one month.
The extension takes effect Monday, May 4, 2020, at 1 am.
