The Sector Commander of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) at Sampa in the Bono Region Chief Supt. Seidu Bayanyinah has made it known that so far no Coronavirus case has been recorded at Sampa borders since the outbreak of the pandemic.
He made this known when Kingdom FM Reporter Effah Yaw Katakyie visited the Sampa borders to know preparation so far put in place by Ghana Immigration Service, Customs, Military and Ghana Health Service in the Bono Region to tackle Coronavirus fight at the borders of Ghana and Ivory Coast
According to Chief Supt Seidu, it is mandatory for everyone who is from Ivory Coast or Ghana to go through the test before he/she is allowed to enter the country.
This is done in collaboration with Ghana Immigration service, the military, police, customs and Port Health Service Staffs. The presence of these security personnel will enforce the compliance of the law.
“The borders Patrol Unit has been tasked to mind borders and unapproved routes such as Kabili, Kofitiakrom, Kaabre, Bodaakrom, Kokosua no. 1 and no. 2 and other border towns that lead to Sampa so that Nobody passes these unapproved routes into the country”, he added.
Again, Chief Supt. Seidu made it known that all staff of Ghana Immigration Service, Customs, Military were sensitized on how the COVID-19 disease transmits and how to handle the cases at the borders by the District Health Service Directorate headed by Dr. Emmanuel .A. Teviu.
