It’s busy out there in the streets of Accra, for loved ones, its one of the few special occasions partners get to spend on their cherished ones, and for gift shops, now is the time to make some more money.
Makola, a traditional market center in Accra was obviously colourful, and busier, with people shopping at various corners for that special person.
At the time Ghanaweb’s team visited the market square, items being purchased, mostly from these stands and shops included; hampers made of teddy bears, panties, wine, perfume, singlets, boxer shorts, chocolates, face towels, customised mugs, just to mention a few.
Though valentine’s day wasn’t hyped that much, some individuals are still ‘killing it’ with various surprise packages from traders in the market for their partners.
All these gifts bought are aimed at surprising at their partners, putting smiles on their faces as well as making it a memorable day for their loved ones.
In an interaction with some buyers, they noted that it was necessary to get their “missing ribs” and “Mr Rights” something special on this day of love.
Their decision taken they believe will in a way spice up their relationship.
Some ladies who spoke to GhanaWeb’s Ernestina Serwaa Asante said they are looking forward to receiving iPhones, over 200 Ghana Cedis hampers as well as a romantic date in the evening as ‘return gifts’ from their partners.
