47-year old mechanic Mr. Yaw Raydolph, popularly known as ‘Master Yaw’ says he is focus on changing the lives of physically challenge persons who have the desire to drive vehicles without any difficulty on stepping on the pedals.
He said due to the dexterity, craftsmanship, zeal and hard work he exhibits in his work, he is known among his peers as the alteration specialist.
His mechanical shop has seen six automatic cars being turned into disabled friendly by him. His latest work was to convert the brakes and accelerators pedals of a Volvo car into hand control to enable his physically challenged client to drive it.
The multi-talented alteration specialist in a conversation with Kingdom FM’s Naa Asheley said the six cars he has converted into hand controlled were still in good condition and working perfectly after many years.
Narrating how he got into the mechanic field, he said the idea started when a colleague was working on a costumer’s car, and immediately he saw the work done, he told the friend his work was shoddy and therefore requested with the permission of the customer to change it into a good one.
He has therefore called on government to support and invest in the youth who are creative and innovative to help them venture into manufacturing of machines such as vehicles to serve the country’s needs instead of the over dependency on foreign cars.
Meanwhile, pastor Kyere who deals in traditional medicine and gave out the land on which Master Yaw operating on said “I really admire the way he does his work, he never joke with the work whenever his working you may think he is joking and wonder the days it will take him to finish, but by the time you realize he has finished with his work which is so perfect and amazing. I can testify of three cars he has worked on and none of the clients have come to complain of anything.”
