Kukuom Gov’t Hospital Receives PPEs To Fight COVID-19
The Government Hospital at Kukuom the capital of Asunafo South District, Ahafo Region has received some Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) worth thousands of cedis from a collaboration of Christ Impact Ministry and Jopa Consult to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
The PPEs presented to the District Chief Executive(DCE) and the District Health Director include five veronica buckets, 72 pieces of soaps, 50 pieces of gloves, a box of sanitizers, 10 pieces of tissue papers, washing bowls and an infrared thermometer.
Addressing the media the Headpastor of the Ministry, Stephen Akwasi Frimpong said for the country to get good results when it comes to curbing COVID-19 pandemic all the needed logistics for health facilities and workers must be available and it is the reason the two bodies teamed-up to support the health facility.
Pastor Stephen Akwasi Frimpong revealed that on several occasions the two bodies have provided some form of assistance to the hospital showing clearly that once the health facility is well equipped the residents can rest assured of property medical care when the need arises.
Per the nature of COVID-19, the PPEs for both health workers and people who patronise health facilities must be in abundance to prevent and limit the spread of the dreadful virus which has infected over 300 persons with six deaths.
According to him the measures put in place by the government obviously tells that it is trying and the country is not in good times but for the country to overcome the global pandemic, all must help in our little ways by providing some of the PPEs to health facilities because when people are infected they would be referred to the said facilities with health professionals attending to them.
He expressed once the PPEs are available to health workers it encourages them to tackle any aspect of coronavirus so all must come support them for effective war against COVID-19.
He told the managers of the district that the bodies will keep supporting them to combat the disease in the district by providing more PPEs from time to time.
The District Chief Executive(DCE) for Asunafo South, Honourable(Hon) Osei Bonsu Senior on behalf of the district thanked the donors and said the items to fight COVID-19 in his jurisdiction have arrived on time because the assembly was preparing to get some in no time for the facility which will empower the workers to work in confidence.
He disclosed that the bodies have been supporting health facilities in the district over the years so it is something others must emulate because collectively coming together is the only way to heal the country from the disease which is a respecter of no man.
The DCE said he is extremely excited to have infrared at the said hospital because it is key when one wants to combat COVID-19.
He appealed to all to come to the aid of the district to fight the virus by donating PPEs.
Madam Theresah Krah, District Health Directors also expressed gratitude to the donors and said the equipments will help the facility to be firm on the ground to fight the virus.
She narrated that because most of the PPEs are disposable there should be constant supply and the government cannot do it alone so individuals and companies in the district and even outside must exhibit love to the health workers who can also be infected easily if the PPEs are not available.
She stated clearly that health workers in the country are up to the task so all must give them the necessary and needed support to thrive over the virus.
