Cobaana Donates PPEs To Ahafo Regional Health Directorate.
The Brong Ahafo Association of North America (COBAANA) has presented a number of Personal Protective Equipments(PPEs) valued thousands of cedis to the Regional Health Directorate, Ahafo to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
COBAANA which is made of natives of Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions living in the United States of America(USA) presented PPEs such as nose masks, hand sanitizers, gloves, washing bowls among others to the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council to be given to all health facilities in the region to help fight COVID-19.
According to the President of COBAANA, Mr. Paul Gyau, for the country to fight against the virus effectively all hands must be on deck to support the government and for now, the most important step is to assist health facilities in the country to have the PPEs in abundance to motivate them to work as all expect.
He explained that the disease is real so all must comply with the protocols issued by the Ministry Of Health(MOH) and its related bodies to completely wipe-off the virus which is dangerous if only the directives are ignored. He assured the managers of the region of continuous support to make it one of the finest in the country although the region is new and young per years of creation.
On behalf of the region, the Minister who is also the Member of Parliament(MP) for Asunafo North Constituency, Honourable(Hon) Evans Opoku Bobie thanked the association and said what has happened shows clearly that the natives from the region in the States have good plans for the region to excel.
Speaking to the media, ever since the country began recording cases the government has extremely done well by providing several interventions to safeguard Ghanaians. PPEs have been procured and fairly distributed to all the 16 regions to limit the spread of the virus but to be sincere the government alone can not succeed if more hands are brought forth.
The Minister disclosed that several donations of PPEs have to be given to almost health facilities in the region kind courtesy individuals and some organizations which show gradually people are realising that the fight is for all.
He assured the donors of fairly distributing the PPEs to all health facilities in the region to enable the workers to perform in accordance as the country fights COVID-19.
He, therefore, urged individuals and organizations in and out of the region to keep supporting health facilities and residents to curb the virus effectively.
Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie appealed to residents to keep on adhering to the preventive measures of COVID-19.
To him, the best measure to prevent been infected by the coronavirus is to stay home if you have nothing important to do in town. He said the authorities of the region will keep on putting valid measures in place to curb it.
