Member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Team, Seth Nana Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah has called all security agencies to arrest people who fails to wear nose masks in public in a way to control the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.
He stressed that, strict instant punishment should be given to people who fails to adhere to President Akufo-Addo Executive Instrument of compulsory wearing of nose masks.
Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah stated that,’’ The punishment is in a right direction as it will force everybody to adhere to the directive of wearing of face mask.’’
“All of us should become ambassadors to preach wherever we are that we should observe the basic rules or guidelines that have come out. They are not very difficult to do. So I don’t understand why some of us do not do these things,” Nana Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah told Reynold Agyemang on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
He said, the legal options, when rolled out, should be enforced strictly to ensure that people adhere strictly to personal preventive protocols, which include the wearing of face masks.
The Executive Instrument (E.I164) which criminalises the failure to wear a nose mask in public was signed into9 law by the president last month.,
The law states that those who are found guilty will be fined a minimum of GH¢1,200 or a maximum of GH¢6,000 or will be sentenced to between four and 10 years in prison.
