Akufo-Addo Committed To Fight COVID-19 – Oko-Boye
The Deputy Minister-designate for Health, Dr Bernard Oko-Boye,has expressed his satisfaction with the measures Government has put in place to deal with the threat of the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to him,influential decisions by President Akufo-Addo show he is committed to control the spread of the epidemic.
“Government of Ghana is doing everything possible to prevent and protect [Ghanaians] against the outbreak and spread of the infection in the country,”Dr Bernard Oko-Boye told Kwame Tutu on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
“Let’s all support the decision by President Akufo-Addo to fight coronavirus and adhere to all the preventive measures put in place,”he added
Dr Bernard Oko-Boye says President Akufo-Addo is forever committed to defeating the coronavirus pandemic.
He urged the general public to observe precautionary measures including regular washing of hands with soap and water or alcohol, and keeping a distance of at least one meter from a person showing signs of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused widespread panic across the world in recent weeks. While no cases of the virus have been confirmed in Ghana, both the government and the public are on high alert after more than 100,000 cases have been confirmed globally.
Ghana’s coronavirus case count has risen sharply to 287, an update by Ghana Health Service late Monday, April 6, 2020 has revealed.
At the last count, confirmed Covid-19 cases stood at 214, implying 73 new persons have tested positive for the deadly virus.
