A/R: 5 Arrested At Dr Mensah For Breaching Directive
The joint security and Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) taskforce have arrested five (5) people at Dr Mensah Market in the Kumasi Metropolis for breaching social distance and lockdown directives.
The five (5) people consist of 4 traders selling in an unauthorized place and a taxi driver who was spotted overloading.
The task force was deployed Tuesday morning to prevent traders from trading at Dr Mensah after the place was locked down by Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) boss Hon Osei Assibey Antwi.
The Head of KMA Taskforce, Bright Ofori who confirmed the arrest to Ambassador Osei Kwadwo said the security will no longer pamper recalcitrants traders in the metropolis.
“We came here around 4am this morning and the traders were here already without following social distance directive. We are beefing up security measures here and we will continue to prevent the traders from operating here” Bright Ofori said.
“Our task force has been deployed to other markets in the metropolis to enforce social distance and lockdown directives. We are appealing to the public especially the traders to obey the directives from government”.
