2020 WASSCE Suspended Over Coronavirus Outbreak
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has suspended the conduct of 2020 WASSCE for school candidates in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.
A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs WAEC, Agnes Teye-Cudjoe said that “this is in line with the protocols put in place by governments of WAEC member countries to prevent the spread of the virus”.
According to the Examination Council, “A new timetable for the conduct of the examination will be designed and made available to all stakeholders when the health situation improves”.
Also, the WASSCE 2020 timetable for school candidates has been suspended until further notice.
The Council further indicated that, the conduct of WASSCE 2020 has also been put on hold and will be reviewed when the pandemic is put under control.
