Green Ghana Project: 4 Million Trees To Be Planted In Ashanti Region

The Ashanti Regional Director of Forestry Commission, Mr. Augustine Kofi Gyedu has announced that, the Commission will plant 4 Million trees out of the national target of 20,000,000 under the Greening Ghana Project.

The target is 20% out of the national target.

He said, 2,163,200 of these trees will be planted in the region’s forest reserve whiles 1,836,800 will be planted in offices and other areas for better monitoring.

He urged those who want to plant some of the trees in their houses and farms to contact the various forestry offices in the region to get the seeds for free.

According to Mr Gyedu, the trees that will be planted include Timber trees, Shade trees as well as ornamental trees.

Mr Gyedu has therefore called on individuals and cooperate institutions to come on board for successful exercise.

The exercise will commence on Friday, 10th June,2022 across the country.
