The Delegation from the NDC was led by the National Chairman Mr Ofosu Ampofo together with Mr. Victor Smith, Betty Mould and other high ranks of the party to apologize on behalf of the NDC Ashanti Regional Secretary Mr. Kwame Zu for the comments he made against the Okyehen Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin.

Kwame Zu months ago said that the people of Kyebi competed with animals until former President John Mahama provided water for its residents, despite the town being the hometown of President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

But the party hierarchy was at the Kyebi to have a closed-door meeting to apologize and settle differences between the two parties.

The Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area of the Eastern Region said, He should compensate the Okyehene with 98 schnapps and 98 Sheeps but later on through the intervention of Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo the decision was withdrawn.

Okyeame Antwi Bosiako continue that,” This should serve a deterrent to all the Politicians who always pour an insult on the Traditional Leaders should put a stop it today.”

Kwaku Zu didn’t had it easy today at the Ofori Panin fie. He was well reprimanded by all the Chiefs who was at the meeting. Again they asked him to remove his shoes and walk bare footed before them and everybody felt sorry for him and he was speechless.

Before they poured the libation and slaughtered the sheep for the purification of the Okyehene’s stool they youth in the area asked the chiefs to released him for them to disciplined him but the chiefs turn down their request.

Furthermore we asked you not to stepped your foot on all our 194 town’s land to performed your Party programmes if you failed to apologized to us.

…And today that banned has been lifted from your party and I believed that what you gone through here will made you to be mindful of your words against the Traditional Rulers.”
