Six Military Coup Plotters Caged
Six Military officers suspected to have conspired with Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm in plotting to take the seat of the president has been remanded into BNI custody to aid the investigation.
WO1 Esther, Corporal Seidu Abubakar, Lance Corporal Ali Solomon, Lance Corporal Sylvester Aka Puwe, Lance Corporal Albert Baba Ibrahim and Lance Corporal Godwin Nii Ankrah’s plea was not taken.
The facts of the case were not read in court.
However, they have been charged with possession of 22 explosives, 6 pistols, 3 hand grenade, and 5 ammunition without lawful excuse.
The Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Sylvester Asare told the six suspects were arrested in connection to the plot of a coup with Dr. Frederick Yao Mac Palm and other senior security officers and need more time to investigate the case.
Lawyer Augustine Gyamfi holding brief for Nkrabea Effah Datey pleaded with the court to make orders to the BNI to allow them to have access to their clients and family members.
The Kaneshie District Court presided over by a magistrate, Rosemond Duodua Agyiri remanded the six accused persons to BNI custody.
The case has been adjourned to 9th October but asked the investigator to make sure they allow them to have access to their lawyers as only Lance Corporal Godwin Nii Ankrah had a lawyer.
