POLICE GIVES DETAIL ACCOUNT ON ACCRA-KUMASI HIGHWAY ACCIDENT

The Ayensuano District Police Command has given details about the accident which occurred Tuesday morning at Kyekyewere on the Accra-Kumasi highway which claimed about 14 lives,  leaving 30 injured.

Confirming the news to the media, the District Police Commander for Ayensuano District ASP Francis Kwawo Nartey said, so far 14 death cases with 30 injuries have been recorded.

Explaining further, he said two fatalities came from the State Transport Corporation (STC) bus with the registration number GE 8131-16 while the other 12 came from the Grand Bird with the registration number  GT 4997-20.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning as at 5:30am, DAF Cargo Truck believed to be heading towards neighboring Burkina Faso crashed into two buses after the tyre burst causing the driver to lose control of the steering wheel, report say.
