Freda Prempeh Urges Parents To Desist From Child Trafficking
The Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Freda Prempeh, has said her outfit is putting strict measures together to stop child trafficking and child labour in the country.
She stated that plans are underway for integrating the fight against human trafficking into the country in order to boost development and strengthen security across the country.
Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North explained that the efforts were necessary since perpetrators were now using all strategies to maintain their grip on the trade through various means.
“The Gender Ministry is working very hard to ensure that parents to desist from using their children from child trafficking, Kete-Krachi has been identified as a major transit point for child trafficking and child labour.’’Freda Prempeh told Kwaku Dawuro on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
Hon. Freda Prempeh added that they were also increasing awareness of human trafficking particularly in the communities and focusing on implementing policies on human trafficking.
She called on the public to actively support the fight against human trafficking and cautioned young people of the dangers out there.
