The Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, has said he is astonished as to why `some Ghanaians are doubting recovery figures from the Ghana Health Service.
Former President John Mahama’s aide, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, expressed doubts about the figures calling for probe.
She posted on Twitter: “How the hell did 790 more people recover overnight. We need to put these numbers to strict proof.”
Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare indicated that, the government is committed to be transparent in issues dealing with coronavirus update.
“Why are people all of a sudden doubting what we are doing? It is data. We collect the data, add the data together and come out with the data.”
“Nobody will hide anything. Nobody will suppress anything so I am very surprised people are doubting,” he said.
He explained that the samples of the recovered persons “were taken and people were isolated as far back as when the lockdown started.”
“We should all be happy as a country that we have put in measures and people are getting well and that is something we should all be very proud of.”
Ghanaians were thrown into a state of shock when the country’s COVID-19 recoveries recorded massive jump 670 to 1,754 on Saturday with 1,084 new recoveries.
