OKUDZETO ABLAKWA HAS BETRAYED NDC VOLTA CAUCUS – KOKU …
Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has tasked Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to explain to the NDC Volta caucus why he resigned from the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
According to him, the law-maker should have consulted the NDC Volta caucus, bigwigs in the party before taking such a decision.
He further stressed that, the North Tongu MP has betrayed the NDC Volta caucus and the NDC grassroots who voted for him to become an MP.
“I’m disappointed in Okudzeto Ablakwa for resigning from the Appointments Committee of Parliament, you can’t just take a decision without consulting the people who sent you there. He has betrayed the NDC Volta caucus and the party grassroots,’’ Koku Anyidoho exclusively told Kwaku Dawuro on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
“Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa must explained to the NDC grassroots why he resigned from the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
Mr Ablakwa communicated his resignation from the Appointment Committee in a letter dated March 30, 2021 and addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.
Mr Ablakwa in his letter explained that his decision came “after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations. I shall like to state that the reasons for this difficult decision is both personal and on principle”.
His letter also entreated Speaker Bagbin to consider his resignation as one that takes immediate effect and as such would not be available for the vetting of President Akufo-Addo’s nominees for deputy ministerial positions which is yet to take place.
