NE/R: 3 TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 IN POLICE CUSTODY AT WALE …

Three persons in custody at a Police station in Walewale in the West Mamprusi District of the North Eastern Region have tested positive for COVID-19.

Samples of a total of 11 inmates were taken on Friday, 15 January, 2021.

The 3, however, tested positive for the virus.

This led to contact tracing by health officials.

“The number of convict cases kept increasing and we had to transfer some. The results came and 3 out of the 11 tested positive,” the Director of Health Services at the West Mamprusi Municipal revealed.

The 3 are currently receiving treatment.

Certain parts of the cell have also been allotted for infected persons contact management.
