The LaNkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly has embarked on demolition exercise at the frontage of the West Africa Senior High School.
The planned demolition exercise kick off on Tuesday, 30th November 2021.
According to the Assembly, the frontage of West Africa Senior High School (WASS) is increasingly becoming a hub for all forms of nuisance to the school and neighboring residents.
The Assembly has received requests and petitions from school authorities and residence to address the activities of scrap dealers and other unpermitted activities around the area.
Concerned residence and school authorities have mentioned failed attempts to rid the community of drug dealers and ‘weed’ smokers and have accused authorities for allowing the area to gradually turn into a hide out for criminals.
Subsequently, a Municipal Security council report also cited the activities of encroachers as security threat.
Some residents who complained bitterly about encroachment under high tension power line, noted that such a development has the tendency to cause havoc, a situation, they added, can threaten the security of the area as well as the entire La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly.
