I SEE A CULTURE OF BIZARRE INTOLERANCE IN GHANA- GABBY OTCHE …
A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP, Gabby Otchere-Darko has waded into the recent debate on the ‘Culture of Silence’ comment made by business magnate, Sir Sam Jonah and has been echoed by a quiet number of people including Ace Investigative Journalist, Manasseh Awuni Azuri that the Government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has created a very tensed atmosphere which has led to many not being able to express their feelings for fear of being victimized by government officials.
For more than a week now there has been a debate on the topic ‘culture of silence’ where many are of the view that the Media has been have been ‘mum’ over certain issues that has been an albatross on the neck of the government and is really affecting the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.
They fail to accept the fact that the previous government ‘suffered’ massive criticism from the Media, but these same Media are not commenting on these same issues under the current administration.
But in a scathing rebuttal the member of the NPP Legal team, differ that suggesting describing those propagating the culture of silence mantra as a group of people with a culture of bizarre intolerance who believe they have the right to speak and squeal anyhow.
He took to his twitter to wade into the glowing debate.
‘’What I see now in Ghana is a culture of Bizarre Intolerance but by a Special Class who believe they have the right to speak and squeal anyhow but others must be silent and not challenge the views of that Special People’’, he twittered.
