 The Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has revealed that he didn’t instruct MP-elect for Tema West, Carlos Kinsley Ahenkorah to snatch ballot papers during the selection process of a speaker for the 8th parliament.

According to him, Carlos Ahenkora came to him to ask him that whether the leadership of the Majority caucus will sit unconcern as the Speaker of Parliament mandate flips to the Minority in Parliament.

 “I never instructed Carlos Ahenkorah to pick the ballot papers, those allegations are false and untrue, although he confronted me I never instructed him to pick the ballot papers ,’’ Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu told Kwaku Dawuro on Anopa Nkomo on Accra-based kingdom FM 107.7


Carlos Kinsley Ahenkorah, the member of parliament-elect for Tema West snatched some ballot papers during counting.

After the counting of votes for Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye was done, the MP-elect snatched the ballot papers from the clerks-at-table and bolted with it.

Prior to the snatching of the ballot papers, the NDC members were singing and jubilating that their speaker-nominee Alban Bagbin had won the secret ballots.
