The past few weeks has come with controversies between two giants of the entertainment industry, Some few months ago Ghanaian Dancehall Artists Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale publicly discredited a fellow industry player Mark Okraku Mantey for being appointed as Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.
Shatta Wale in a live Instagram video stated that he would create his own political party if Mark Okraku Mantey should be appointed as deputy minister and he did not deserve to minister. This caused mixed reactions from the public and persons in the industry about his possible selection.
President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo later last week published the list of the newly appointed ministers designate, Fortunate for Mark his name appeared on the list of deputy ministers designate as deputy minister for the Tourism, Arts, and Culture portfolio.
Mark has gained some support from some industry players including Friction of the famous VIP group. Friction says he disagrees with Shatta Wale saying Mark Okraku did not deserve that portfolio. Friction disclosed this in an interview on Asempa FM’s “Tete A Tete “ show with Kweku Adu Kumi saying Mark has been in the industry for a very long time and that he deserves it.
He further added as “we all gonna support he climbs the tree, he deserves it “ Kweku Adu Kumi also asked him about his expectations should Mark be vetted by the parliamentary appointment committee and be appointed as minister, Friction stated that Mark is an industry expert he has been with them so he knows what the industry players want “their needs “ and he and his other colleagues are there to support him that “two heads are better than one “
