2020 ELECTION PETITION: ATUBIGA BLASTS SUPREME COURT JUDGES …
A popular member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and one-time presidential aspirant, Stephen Atubiga has chided the Supreme Court panel of been biased in the ongoing 2020 Election petition hearing.
Atubiga observation comes on the back of the Supreme Court dismissing an application by the petitioner to inspect some documents from the second respondent in the ongoing petition.
He said in a post shared on his social media handles copied by Kingdomfmonline.com that: “The supreme court and the justices are not above constructive criticism.’’
‘’The justices must protect and deliver justice of the law that invest justice in them. I foresee Supreme Court and EC merging together by President Nana Addo as, EC Supreme Court of Ghana after the election petition.’’
‘’Nobody is above the law. Including those making the laws, delivering the laws and protecting the laws.’’
Meanwhile, the apex court in ruling on the application to inspect documents of the Electoral Commission dismissed same saying the threshold of necessity has not been met by lawyers of John Mahama.
