COVID-19; Stop Taking Money From The Poor, Help Them Overcom …

Ghanaian gospel musician, Gifty Adoye known widely as Empress Gifty has ‘lashed’ out at some pastors in the country, who are looking for cunning ways to extort money from their congregation during this time that COVID-19 has spread it’s ‘cold’ wings over the globe.

In an exclusive phone call interview on Kingdom FM 107.7, Saturday {March 21, 2020}, the “Aseda” singer stressed that members pay offering to the church to be used for God’s work and this is the time for pastors to give back to society.

“Stop the church service and support the poor with hand sanitizers”, she told host, Londona on Entertainment Arena.

“All pastors should buy hand sanitizers and give them out to the poor because there are a lot who can’t afford it”, she stressed.

Adding her voice to whether or not celebrities should be paid to use their influence to educate Ghanaians on the novel coronavirus, she opined that it’s about time celebrities gave back to citizens for their support.

“Celebrities should not be expected to be paid… think about your country and also do this for your country”, she added.

However, the gospel diva applauded Actor cum Politician John Dumelo for distributing over 4,000 hand sanitizers to the people of Ayawaso Wuogon constituency.

Ghana has recorded a total of 21 coronavirus infections so far with one death.

The deceased, a 61-year old man of Lebanese nationality died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital {KATH} in the Ashanti region.

The number of people infected with the deadly virus worldwide is more than 287,241 with over 11,923 deaths.

Egypt, South Africa and Algeria are the most hit countries in Africa with little over 1,000 cases.
