The Commercial court presided over by Justice Eric Kyei Baffour who was recently appointed to the court of Appeal has issued a court warrant for the immediate arrest of a social commentator known on social media as Kelvin Ebo Taylor for his defamatory and untrue comments against the court and the honorable judge, Justice Eric Kyei Baffour on the ongoing trial of the former Board Chairman of the National Communications Authority (NCA).
In one of his recent Taylor’s commentary on social media made defamatory and untrue statement about the ongoing trial of the NCA case which he described the judge as persecuting the accused persons and used the opportunity to, therefore, call on the newly sworn-in Chief Justice, Annin Yeboah to investigate justice Eric Kyei Baffour as he is not fit to be appointed to the court of Appeal because of some dubious actions and unguided behavior of him as a high court judge who is been manipulated by some NPP or ruling Government to maltreat and also put in all effort to imprison some members of the opposition party.
He made many references to the trial of the NCA case where he said he is using his capacity as a judge to sabotage and influence the trial of the case.
The former Board chair of NCA, Eugene Baffour Bonnie, and others are standing trial for causing financial loss to the state.
Justice Kyei Baffour before the hearing of the case is morning directed the orders to the BNI, Inspector General of Police(IGP) and National Security to make sure they abide by the order and produce the social commentator to court to explain why he should not be cited for contempt and also show cause why he should not be imprisoned for those defamatory comments.
He said the order holds until Kelvin is arrested and produced before his court or surfaced from the earth.
