As part of measures taken to curb the spread of the novel virus, President Akufo Addo has indicated that government is deploying drones for transportation of blood samples taken from persons suspected to be infected with Coronavirus for onward delivery to the various centres for testing.
This was disclosed by President Akufo-Addo on Sunday, April 19, 2020, in a nationwide televised address on Ghana’s state in the fight against COVID-19.
“Government has also introduced the use of drones to expedite the transportation of samples to laboratory centres. On Friday 17th April for example, 51 samples were delivered from the Omenako drone distribution centre to Noguchi,” he said.
Ghana’s cases of respiratory diseases now increased to 1,042 with nine deaths.
There are 99 recovery cases, while active cases stand at 934.
