Pay Us Now Or We Forever Remain On Strike – Metro Mass Dri …

Workers of Metro Mass Transit Limited have threatened to continue with a sit-down strike if the government fails to pay them their salary.

‘’We are pleading with the government to pay us our salary arrears for the month of May and June since we work for it’’. They said.

Chairman of the Junior Staff Union of the company, Samuel Quaye speaking on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ with Okatakyie Obeng Mensah on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7 said, they receive half salary in the months of April which they were hoping to receive full salary for the remaining months, up to date they have not received any salary.

He explained that, ever since the outbreak of covid-19 in the country things have not been the same for them, because they have to reduce the number of passengers they pick which has really affected their business and salary.

He added that, things are becoming difficult for them because they are finding it difficult to feed their families.

‘’We are finding things difficult, we can’t feed our families due to lack of fund’’

Samuel Quaye therefore called on the government to come to their aid with some support to ease them from suffering.
