Nigeria’s closure of land borders with neighbouring countries and it’s subsequent extension till January 2020 has began to have rippling effects on Ghanaian Exporters and Importers.
The Federal Government of Nigeria over the weekend extended the duration of the ongoing ‘Exercise Swift Response’ across the nation’s borders till next year.
President Muhammadu Buhari approved the extension of the exercise until January 31, 2020.

Nigeria closed all land borders with neighbouring countries in October, following an earlier closure of its borders with its western neighbour, the Republic of Benin in August.
But some Ghanaians have already started complaining of theft of goods at the borders.
A Ghanaian Exporter and Importer, Akwasi Opoku shared with the host of Anopa Nkomo, Kwame Tutu on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7 how serious the situation has affected them.
