Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School in the Ashanti region has recorded two cases of H3N2 influenza.

The Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang said samples were taken from the school when they suspected but two of them came out to be positive.

Mr. Tenkorang told Kingdom Fm’s Antwi Boasiako in an interview that it was the only school that has recorded cases in the region.

He noted that the H3N2 is seasonal influenza that normally comes during the rainy season, especially in schools where people are crowded.

Dr. Tenkorang also complained about the COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy, saying only 32 percent of the region’s population have fully vaccinated against the pandemic.
