Most Christians throughout the world mark 31st December in a special way. A distinct watch night service termed ‘Crossover’ is organized to usher in the New Year.
Ghanaian churches have attached so much flamboyancy to the new year’s eve service. Names like CrossOver, Passover, JumpOver, LeapOver amongst others have flooded the billboards.
But according to the head pastor of Believers House of Worship International, the 31st watch night service is just one of those ordinary days in the sight of the Lord.
Rev. Abraham Lamptey told Fiifi Pratt in an exclusive interview on Kingdom Plus 101.9FM, that God is looking forward to a lasting and daily intimate relationship with men and not only at 31st watch night service.
“I would like to boldly state that there is nothing scripturally special about the night of 31st December,” he said.
“We see a large number of unbelievers trooping into the church on the new year’s eve believing that their short time of insincere surrender to God will usher them into a good year he ” added.
