An examiner with the West Africa Examination Council and is currently chairman of the National Association of Graduate Teachers ( NAGRAT) in the Eastern Region, Mr. Godwin Awoonor has revealed that marking of the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will begin in January 2022.
According to him, the examiners will rest in the Christmas season and start marking the exams papers from 12th to 16th January 2022.
Speaking at Golden Child Complex School 14th graduation ceremony on the theme “Self-discipline-the key to national development and progress” for Junior High School students in Asamankese, Mr. Godwin Awoonor said zonal leaders had already gone for a meeting for the marking and said by the end of January 2022, marking and grading will be completed and provisional Results will be released in February 2022.
The NAGRAT chairman called on parents and students to remember examiners in Prayers to have a sound mind to mark the papers, adding, “Marking for the papers calls for prayers. Do your best to pray for your kids. Now they have completed School and their papers are somewhere to be marked by Teachers, and there are a lot of issues on marking. I am an examiner and team leader and know what I am saying, final marking scheme will be sent to script checker for scrutiny.”
He called on students waiting for results to be self-disciplined and have self-control for this Yuletide and minimize enjoyment.
A total number of 571, 894 candidates will sit for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) from today, Monday, November 15, 2021, to Friday, November 19, 2021, at 2,158 centers nationwide.
