I’m Committed To Revive Colts Football In Ghana – George Afriyie

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential hopeful, George Afriyie has reiterated his commitment to revive colts football in Ghana if he is voted into power to be the next President of the GFA.

Mr. George Afriyie noted that “he will be constructing a number of football pitches across the rest of the country to aid in the revival of colts football, which has been responsible for the production of many talents”, that have helped raised the flag of Ghana high in Africa and the rest of the world,” George Afriyie exclusively  told Gideon Okyere Anim on  KINGDOM ALL SPORTS on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7.

According to the Liberty Professionals Board Chairman, he remains committed to the development of football in the country and would help produce more football talents by constructing and helping in Sports Development.

He noted that his leadership would “continue the process of passing the Legislative Instruments and pursue the enactment of the draft of the National Sports College Bill, and accelerate a Sports Fund to improve sports development in the country”.

According to him, turning attention to colts football would help develop better players that will eventually end up playing for the national team.

Ghana is struggling to dominate youth football on the continent and in the world .

Soccer within the nation has gone down the drain previously a couple of years, be it the native league, golf equipment participation in any of CAF’s inter-club competitions or nationwide groups competing on the numerous worldwide tournaments.

The GFA position has been vacant since the resignation of former president Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will hold an Extra-Ordinary Congress on Thursday 5th September 2019 at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Ridge, Accra.

All delegates are expected to convene at the venue on the said date to adopt the revised GFA Statutes in accordance with the mandate of the Normalisation Committee in which a date will be  set for the upcoming GFA Presidential elections.
